The Central Hardwoods Scenic Trail follows the US 68/KY 80 corridor through Land Between the Lakes, extending from the Lake Barkley side near the former Golden Pond community to Fenton near Kentucky Lake.
The eastern 2.5 miles are paved, making that section especially comfortable for walking, running, and cycling. Beyond Golden Pond, the trail continues for another 8.5 miles on a well-maintained gravel surface as it travels west toward Kentucky Lake.
Along the way, you’ll cross 12 bridges and pass through a variety of wooded landscapes that make the journey just as enjoyable as the destination.
