About Weakley's Guide Service

Brad Weakley is a lifelong angler who has spent much of his time fishing Kentucky Lake. He has worked as a licensed guide for more than four decades and also has a background in tournament fishing. In 1986 and 1987, he represented Kentucky at the United States World Team Fish Off before later stepping away from the professional circuit to focus on guiding.

Weakley’s Guide Service works with a range of species, including largemouth and smallmouth bass, crappie, white bass, bluegill, redear and catfish. The service welcomes children, families, seniors and experienced anglers. Group and corporate trips can also be arranged with additional guides when needed.

Tackle, bait and fuel are included in the trip, and guests may bring personal equipment if they prefer. Fish that are kept can be cleaned and packaged at the end of the day. Guests need a valid Kentucky fishing license and clothing suited to the forecast. Brad can also provide information about nearby lodging for visitors planning more than a day around the lake.

Seasonal timing varies by species. Crappie are pursued throughout the year, while bass, white bass, bluegill, redear and catfish each have their own productive periods. That variety allows a trip to be planned around the time of year and the kind of fishing the group wants to do. Brad’s service combines those seasonal options with instruction and a day structured for the experience level of the people aboard.
