Kentucky Lake, Lake Barkley, and Land Between the Lakes offer far more than a day on the water. The region includes family attractions, historic sites, wildlife areas, trails, museums, golf courses, and community events. Some places are built around the lakes themselves, while others tell the story of the people, landscapes, and history that shaped western Kentucky and northwest Tennessee.
Land Between the Lakes brings several of the region’s best-known attractions together inside one national recreation area. Visitors can learn about native wildlife, explore a working 19th-century farm, watch a planetarium program, drive through the Elk & Bison Prairie, or stop at one of the visitor centers before heading deeper into the forest. Each attraction offers a different way to understand the land between Kentucky Lake and Lake Barkley.
