About Kick'n Bass Guide Service
Despite the name, Kick’n Bass Guide Service is not limited to just bass. Captain Rich Bay runs a full-time, multi-species operation on Kentucky and Barkley lakes, planning trips around the fish, conditions and interests of the group. Techniques may include spider rigging, pulling crankbaits or casting ledges, depending on what the day calls for.
Family fishing is an important part of the service. Trips are available from the Kick’n Bass pontoon, which is wheelchair-accessible and able to accommodate most anglers. Rich also works with corporate and company groups and can adjust the trip to fit the experience level of the people aboard.
Kick'n Bass Guide Service supplies the boat, fuel, live bait, rods, reels and lures. Species-specific equipment is provided for crappie, bluegill, white bass and other targets. Guests may still bring a favorite rod, reel or lure. They should also bring a fishing license, food and drinks, sunscreen, sunglasses, a hat, rain gear and warm clothing when the forecast requires it.
Rich’s approach combines fishing with practical lake knowledge. New anglers can learn the basics while more experienced guests can see different equipment, sonar accessories and methods in use. The pontoon format also gives families and groups room to share the day. Trip details are arranged in advance so the fishing method, group needs and seasonal opportunity can be considered together.
