About Angling Adventures with John Morgan
John Morgan’s earliest fishing memories come from farm ponds near Kentucky Lake and days spent spider rigging for crappie beside his father. He later became active in bass clubs and weekend tournaments, then started Angling Adventures in 1992. That background shaped a guide service that is comfortable moving between crappie, bass and other seasonal opportunities.
Based near Murray, John guides on Kentucky Lake and describes himself as a multi-species angler. His trips include on-the-water instruction covering fishing methods, equipment, tackle, live bait and boat control. Guests can use his rods, reels and tackle or bring familiar equipment of their own. He also cleans the day’s catch.
A Kentucky fishing license is required. Guests should bring food and drinks, appropriate clothing, and rain gear or warm layers when conditions call for them. A cooler is available aboard the boat. John offers both full-day and half-day options, which allows the trip to be matched to your schedule.
John also shares Kentucky Lake conditions through fishing reports, especially in the spring. Those updates reflect the same practical approach found in his guide trips: paying attention to seasonal movement, choosing a workable method and helping anglers understand why it fits the day. His service can accommodate visitors who want to learn the lake as well as those simply looking for a guided day of fishing.
