About Sportsman's Lodge Campgrounds & Marina
Sportsman's Lodge Campground is part of the larger Sportsman's Lodge property at the Jonathan Creek Bridge on US 68 near Benton. Campsites and tent sites provide an outdoor alternative to the property's motel rooms, cottages, and fishing cabins, while the marina keeps Kentucky Lake recreation close at hand. A bath and shower house serves the camping area, giving tent campers and other guests access to dedicated campground facilities.
The location gives the campground much of its character. Jonathan Creek opens into Kentucky Lake, and the US 68 crossing has long served as a familiar landmark for anglers and boaters traveling through the Benton and Aurora area.
Campers at Sportsman's Lodge also have the broader resort around them. A full-service marina operates on the property with slip and boat rentals, so a camping trip can be built around time on the water without requiring a separate marina destination. The marina's season generally runs from late March through October.
The property's swimming pool adds another outdoor option during warmer weather. It also gives families or groups with different interests some flexibility when not everyone wants to spend the entire day fishing or boating. That combination can be especially useful for larger fishing groups. Some members can camp while others choose a motel room or cottage, yet the group can still meet at the marina and head onto Kentucky Lake together.
Sportsman's Lodge Campground keeps the arrangement fairly straightforward: a place to camp, facilities for getting cleaned up, lake recreation nearby, and the services of a resort and marina surrounding it. For visitors whose plans revolve around Jonathan Creek and Kentucky Lake, the campground keeps the trip centered close to the water.
